Here’s the bedroom. Start to finish. I love, love, love this room. I ripped these pics from Christina. Some of them are sideways. Sorry, I’m tired. It’s been a long day.

^I tore out the carpet which revealed a really ugly floor.

^The wall the headboard will be up against.

^We had way too much yellow paint.  So we decided to paint the floor yellow, too.

^Christina was so excited about getting the room done, that one night she literally stayed up till 5 AM painting.  I got up for work, and there she was, jamming to her ipod.  =)

^And here you have it. =)  Where the magic happens.  ;D

Getting My Ducks In a Row

Well, I am at that point in my life again.  I’m ready for a change.  I need a new job.  I’m sitting pretty in the position that I currently have, but I do not want to be here forever.  I have gained some great experience in HR and I’m ready to take my knowledge to the next level.

I browsed craigslist today.  This inspired me to update my resume, so that I have something current on hand.  I’m either 1) Underqualified because I lack a degree. Or 2) Over qualified. I can take similar jobs with simlar pay, but I’m ready for something better.

This broght me back to the idea of continuing my education.  I ment to go back much sooner.  Life happened, one thing led to another and I’ve never re enrolled.  I checked on the deadlines for financial aid.  I’m getting all of my ducks in a row, and aiming for attending classes in the Fall 09.  I can go back sooner, if my parents will cooperate and help me fill out the FAFSA. I’m still technically a dependent, even though I’ve been on my own for the past five years.  Dumb.

I’m so excited about this weekend.  Christina and I are going to the Reptile show at the Fair Grounds on Saturday.  Then the gay pride parade is Sunday.  I’ve been battling a nasty cold, but I do have faith that I can beat this by the weekend.  Here’s to trying!

The Cuban (Cuban on the Run) is Christina’s Chinese Water Dragon.  I caught him just “hanging out” today.  I thought it was a funny pose, so I took the picture.

Christina’s Birthday

Blue Man Group was amazing.  I definitely had a great time.  I would like to see it again some time soon.

We started the evening at Chili’s, with our room mate, Amber and Christina’s sister, Sarah.  Two for ones all day is never a bad deal.  We realized as soon as we were seated that we had a lot less time than we originally thought.  So we ordered drinks and and appetizer.  Time came down to a crunch, and we had to leave.  We pissed off the server by canceling the last drink.  I would have felt bad, but she was just standing at the bar shooting the shit with the bartender when we approached her, after having waited on the drink for over 15 minutes.  Amber and Sarah stayed, and ordered dinner.

Christina and I made it to City Walk and the show right in the nickof time.  Poor Christina had to pee since we had left the restaurant and the bathrooms were packed, plus we were short on time. We were seated about 5 minutes prior to the show starting.

The show was quite the experience.  I good blend of visual effects, humor and live music really does make it appeal in some way, to everyone.

When we got back to the house, we had a glass of wine with our room mate and her girlfriend homegirl.“

I wish I had take the camera with us to City Walk.  I’ve been really bad about carrying it with me lately. All in all, I think Christina had a great birthday.  She said she had the best birthday ever.  =)

Christina’s Birthday Plan

Christina’s been talking about going to see The Blue Man Group for the past 2 years that I’ve know her.  Each year she talks about getting a bunch of people together and going for her birthday.  It never works out.  No one can afford it.  (Insert other excuses here). This year I decided I was going to take her.

I found out that I could about a $30 discounton each ticket with my AAA card.  So I call the AAA office, to inquire about times.  They confirmed that there were indeed tickets still available for the night of Christina’s birthday.  I asked if I could purchase the tickets at their office location and the woman said “come on down.”

I hop in my Jeep and travel 40 minutes across town to their location.  I arrive, then I’m informed that the tickets are not available to purchase at the office.  The deal is an online only offer.

At this point, I’m irritated. I just used a quarter tank of gas, paid tolls and then was told I couldn’t buy my tickets.  I drive back home, in what has now become 5 o’clock traffic.  5 o’clock traffic on the 408 sucks, simply put.

I get home, log on to the internet, and go back to the AAA website.  Nowhere on the site does it say “PURCHASE HERE” or “BUY NOW.”  I know this discount has to be done through the AAA website, and not Universal’s site because the woman at the office told me so.  So, now I’m pissed.

I dial the same 407 number from before, and explain my dilemma.  I called, was told I could purchase tickets ar the office, was told upon arrival that I couldn’t, follow the representatives instructions and visit the site, just to be discouraged again because the site is not designed well.

The phone representative does his apology/sympathy thing.  I know that drill, I answer phones for a living.  He pulls up the webpage on his computer, and compeltely agrees that it’s not user frienly.  He walked me through the series of steps, and my tickets are purchased.  Awesome.

</end rant>

So, Christina’s finally going to see The Blue Man Group.  I made her a card with The Blue Men on it, since I didn’t have physical tickets to give her.  She’s so excited.

We’re metting friends for dinner and drinks before the show at Margaritaville.  I’m excited too.

Event recap to come. =)

They’re gone!

The saga of my disgusting neighbors is finally coming to an end.  The Uhaul pulled up yesterday.  They were there for a little bit this morning, gathering more things.  These people have been a thorn in my side for the last 3 years.  I’m so glad to see them go.

Yesterday, I got to see an old friend.  Krystal and I used to work together a while back.  She and her girlfriend just moved in together.  Christina and I spent part of the day there.  We watched a movie and made a pizza.  It was good to see her. I wish we could have spent more time catching up.  There was an awkward silence most of the time.    Unfamilular territory?  Who knows.

Ethernal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is on E! this morning.  I’m trying to watch it in an effort to avoid waking up my sleeping girlfriend.  She loves her sleep.  I can’t stay in bed all day.  I feel as if I’m wasting too much time.  There are better things to do.

Hamburger Mary’s

Being in a somewhat adventurous mood, Christina and I decided to check out Hamburger Mary’s for dinner.  I really dug the atmosphere.  It’s a great place to take friends.  The food was a little less than I had expected.  I figured with a name with Hamburger in the title, the burger would be exceptional.  We both had the ”Queen Mary” which  was a decent grade of meat and cooked properly, but the bun was a little dried out.  All most stale tasting.  The bacon was super dry as well, it had been over cooked.  Maybe arriving earlier would avoid the dried out experience.  We didn’t get there until about 9 PM.  Their fries are coated with some kind of smokey flavored seasoning.  It’s a matter of personal taste, but there was too much of that seasoning.  The onion rings were great.  A perfect after-the-club indulgence.  They have a pretty decent drink menu, offering $3 “Train Shots” each time the train passes through Church Street Station.  This rumbles the house and a gay boy with a microphone announces the $3 special.  Your check is delivered to the table in a size 6 1/2, red, high heeled shoe.

I would recommend checking out Hamburger Mary’s for the atmosphere.  It’s a great place to pre drink before you visit the clubs, downtown.  Some drinks are a little pricey, as the $3 “Train Shot” was the only “special” advertised.

The staff is friendly, upbeat and in some cases charming.  A mostly male staff might make some lesbians feel as if they’re in a sausage fest.  Seating was awkward, as the booths in the back of the restaurant do not have backs to them.  Lean too far, and you’re bumping elbows with another patron.  A large party was seated right behind us.  They were a little on the obnoxious, but we were downtown on a Saturday night, ya know.

The next time I venture to Hamburger Mary’s, I’ll bring friends and plan to drink.  Large round tables in the front of the restraunt seem to be the place to be.  It’s a place to enjoy with friends, not a romantic dinner for two.

Tomorrow’s Christina’s brother’s (Ryan) birthday get together.  He’s in town from Daytona.  This means I get to spend more time with the mother-in-law.  Don’t worry.  I’m thirlled (sense sarcasm).  I’ll be on my best behavior.

The job was stressing me out last week.  My boss was on vacation.  Now I actually realize how much it is she does.  I have a little more respect.  I need to get back to good with her.  At least until I figure out my next move.

On the topic of the job,  tomorrow night I’m hanging out with one of the girls who used to work under me.  She’s just admitted to me that she’s seeing a girl.  Naturally, this makes me smile.  They just moved in together and I’m going to check out their new place.  This should be interesting.

Maya’s Poop Explosion

When I got up for work this morning, I discover Maya’s taken a massive diarrhea poop on the floor.  I know it was Maya because she’s got a really guilty conscious when she’s done something bad.  (Probably some kind of fear she acquired while in Christina’s ex’s hands).  She hid behind the recliner and totally gave herself away.

Christina got up with me this morning and put Maya outside as soon as we discovered her explosion.  When it was time for me to leave for work, she was afraid to come back in.  She ducked behind my Jeep, rolled over and refused to budge.  Christina had to come out and pick up her 45lb Pit Bull and take her back inside of the house.

So, I think I have a suicidal dog on my hands.
